Intermed International, Inc.  is classified by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501c(3) tax-exempt organization and a 509(a) Public Foundation, both as defined by the Internal Revenue, and is a registered Exempt Organization with the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance. Intermed International is a non profit, non sectarian, non government, private voluntary organization. Intermed International is a registered with the IRS and the State of New York as Intermed International, Inc.  Intermed International is accredited by the Committee of Volunteer Foreign Aid of the Agency for International Development of the U.S. State Department.

To assist underdeveloped countries in the development of their health delivery systems by support for projects related to medical care, disease prevention, health education, medical staff training and the need for equipment and supplies, and to provide medical support and rehabilitation services for refugees.


The Dooley Foundation was founded and incorporated in the State of California in 1961, and subsequently relocated to the State of New York in 1986. In 2001 the legal name of the organization was officially changed to Intermed International, Inc.  The DBA Dooley Foundation was established in 2004 in the State of New York. The DBA Dooley Intermed International was established in 2013 in the State of New York.
