Refugee Eye & Medical Project – Pokhara Nepal

Our Spring 2010 Dooley-Intermed Eye & Medical project was a huge success. We organized a very large Eye & Medical Clinic for over 600 Tibetan Refugees from eleven refugee camps located near the Pokhara Valley in Nepal. Key partners in this project were the Pema Ts’al Sakya Monastic Institute and the Himalaya Eye Hospital. Kathmandu Orphanage – Field Update

We are happy to report that construction on the new orphanage building near Dhulikeil is once again proceeding well. The monsoon rains made construction particularly difficult over the summer months, but recent progress has been quite good. Tibetan Refugee Dental Clinic is being planned for Spring of 2011

Seattle based dentist, Dr. Tom Roberts, is again assembling a team of volunteer dentists and assistants to host yet another of his week-long dental clinic for Tibetan refugees in rural Nepal. “Dr. Tom” as he is known locally, has been doing this for a number of years, paying all his own expenses, and treating all-comers for free.
